Meeting
February 10, 2005
A. The North Carolina Pretreatment Consortium Meeting was called to order at 10:40 am. On February 10, 2005 by Sherry Bagwell, Chairman, at Lake Mackintosh Marina Clubhouse in Burlington, N.C.
B. Members in Attendance were: Sherry Bagwell, Cheryl Tilley, Monica Hayes, Jeff Pourpart, Douglas Troutman, Aaron Otten, John Gibson, Charles VanZandt, Ralph Potter, Mike Hite, Burrell Brock, Angel Carter, Victor Quick, Martie Groome, Chris Bortnick, Scott Pickard, Sharon Miller, Mark Lovitt, Donald Smith, Jimmy Rickert, Carol Bell, Bill Gintert, Scott Clark, Scott Austin, Rickie Stutts, Cheryl Douglas, Reginald Hicks, Beverly Metcalf, Frank Skee, William Frazier, Debra Collins, Jimmy Pridgen, Regina Fortune, Nicole Johnston, Leon Holt, Stephen Haller, Gisele Comer Jill Hutchinson, Amy Varinoski.
C. Minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved.
D. Old Business
- Today a double meeting is planned, Pretreatment Consortium and Planning. Lunch will be provided.
- Treasure: Records transfer to Jimmy Pridgen.
Income VS Spending report presented. Tax exempt for NC State approved. Questionable on refund for tax money for (the past 4 years and late penalties).
Expenses -$3059.71 due to large purchases this past year -laptop, taxes, lawyer fees.
- Invoices on Membership dues were send out Feb. 1-4,2004 by Monica Hayes, due back by April 1, 2005.
E. Conference Committee: Scott Pickard -send out brochures early.
F. Certification Chairman- Sherry Bagwell: Grade I classes and III are being offered
On April 25-29, 2005 at Hawthorn Suites in Durham. SIU"S can attend Grade I.
G. Website: Opening web site has problems at this time. Location errors are present.
H. Executive Committee: Noted we have three Honorary Members: John Parnell, Bernie
Strohmeyer and Guy Aydlett. Industry Day is being planned. Sherry Bagwell is asking for SIU'S, contacts, and Addresses. This will be held in the Greensboro area.
I. New Business:
Jeff Poupart discuss Pharmaceutical and Personal care Scans. Presented the members a handout on "Medicines, household chemicals flow into creeks".
Monica Hayes to check on Hospital and Pharmacy disposal actions.
Sherry Bagwell wants to recognize the members attending all meetings and conference in some matter. A drawing was suggested or a gift.
Sherry Bagwell requested topics for future consortium meetings. Topics that were discussed were:
- State Topics
- Panel discussions
- Roy Byrd on Mercury
- Tour Central Lab
- Industry Waste Survey
- Judicial Agreements
- Economic Cycle for Industries
J. Open discussion on Pretreatment documentation and organization:
- Access database is used.
- Outlook calendars- pops up schedule
- Forms from Jimmy Pridgen were passed around.
- Notebooks with all the information on each industry and photos and all sampling sites. Notebooks containing permit, maps, SUO, ERP.
K. Meeting was adjourned at 1:10 p.m.
The next meeting of the NC-PC will be held on April 14, 2005 at 10:30 am at Statesville, N.C.
