Meeting
May 13, 2004



A. The North Carolina Pretreatment Consortium Meeting was called to order at 10:36am on May 13, 2004 by Janet Maddox, 2004 NC-PC Inc. Chairman, at the North Mecklenburg Water Treatment Plant in Huntersville, NC.

B. Members in Attendance were: Rickie Stutts, Scott Austin, Tamara Johnson, Ruby Tarver, Veronica Cade, Jill Hutchinson, Gisele Comer, Nancy Matherly, John Ritchie, Sherry Bagwell, Jon van Hoff, Carol Rogers, Karen Reece, Beverly Metcalf, Sharon Miller, Cheryl Douglas, Janet Maddox, Cheryl Tilley, Monica Hayes, Nicole Johnston, Mike Korzelius, Michele Dawes and Angela Moore.

C. Minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved.

D. Old Business

  1. Treasury
    In John Gibson’s absence, the following information was relayed by Monica Hayes.

    a. Tax Exempt Status
    Filing process is not complete, though Hunton and Williams have begun working on the project again.

    c. Computer Purchase
    John Gibson has not yet purchased the projector.

  2. Certification
    Sherry Bagwell reported that due to low attendance, the certification committee may choose to only offer classes in alternate years.

  3. There were no other subcommittee reports as there were no other executive committee members present.


E. New Business

Sherry Bagwell requested that the NC-PC seek to hire someone to redesign the website to create a more professional and stimulating appearance. Janet Maddox stated that she would look into the issue (later clarification, Ms. Maddox was referring to determining the by-laws to determine the requirements for voting in the case of budget expenditures).

F. Program

Mr. Paul Bartlett,Vice President of Quantum Engineering, gave a presentation entitled “Pollution Prevention for Industrial Dischargers”.

G. The NC-PC, Inc. provided sandwiches for all attendees and the meeting was adjourned at approximately 11:30am for lunch.
