Donald Smith is currently the Utility Pretreatment Technician for the Town of Cary and has been employed with the Town for 10 years. He has 5 years of dedicated pretreatment experience. Donald holds a Grade II Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certification, Class A Surface Water Treatment Operator Certification and a Grade II Pretreatment Specialist Certification.

Donald is very active in the Consortium and has participated in the following:

• Actively participated in the Pretreatment Consortium for five years

• Served as Chairman of the Vendor Committee for several years
• Assist with set-up of AV equipment for the annual conference and certification classes
• Teaches pretreatment certification classes
• Provides Grease Information to all municipalities

Donald’s untiring efforts and devotion to the improvement of the pretreatment program has earned him our respect and this award.
